Aino had already been prepared for a “charity job,” but now that there was actually a reward worth looking forward to, she felt a tinge of excitement.

"It's morning right now. Let's head out immediately."

Seeing Aino agree so readily, Splun was overjoyed. Without hesitation, he raised his hand and called out,

"Bring the sandfish for the lady!"

…What now? A shark? Aino wondered if she had misheard.

"You have sharks here? Aren't those supposed to be in water?"

Splun chuckled, then patiently explained, "Miss, you may not know this, but we have lived in this desert for countless generations. We have domesticated a creature known as the sandfish, which we use for hunting and tracking.
